One of the concerns many people seem to have about applying for points-earning credit cards is how those applications might affect their credit score, or FICO.

The interesting thing is, though credit card applications do affect your FICO score, it's not in the way you might think, and carrying multiple credit cards over time (and responsibly) might actually raise your score.
