Jaunted: Love is in the Air on SAS

There's been a lot of talk about gay marriage lately, especially with all the Prop 8 trials going on in California. On a happier note, SAS Airlines, which is famously gay-friendly, has decided to throw the world's first mid-air gay nuptials onboard one of its flights from Stockholm to New York in December. The business class cabin will be converted into a wedding hall for the flight, cake and dancing included, and the lucky European couple will get married by the captain. Then they'll have a fun, jet-setting little jaunt from New York to West Hollywood. On the return, a North American couple will get married, and whisked away to some of Sweden's most happening destinations. It's a contest though, so the couples do have to enter and jump through a few hoops.

SAS is already progressive on a number of fronts--from service to environmental initiatives--and their gay-friendly policies are another great reason to make it your airline of choice when flying to Europe.

In the meantime, if you and your significant other have been contemplating taking the big plunge, this might just be the opportunity you've been waiting for. Otherwise, if you're just curious about the contest and all the prizes in store for the winning couples, take a look at my Jaunted article by clicking the link below.
