I had an interesting story come across my desk this week. G Resorts is a new luxury hotel brand catering specifically to the LGBT community that is planning to break ground on five properties across the U.S. over the next two years.Along with a promotional bus tour that has been stopping at Pride events up and down the east coast so far this season, G Resorts has just released design renderings and the location of its first hotel...in Wilton Manors, Florida.
If you're as confused as I was as to the choice of location, rest assured it's not too far from Fort Lauderdale, and the small city has one of the highest proportion of gay residents as a percentage of its total population in the country.
Unfortunately the renderings so far don't include images of the rooms, but the public spaces look pretty hip, so hopefully the rest of the design will follow. For now, take a look at my story on HotelChatter and see what you think.
