You know, it's fun to socialize over drinks, hit up a happy hour, save some money, guzzle some cocktails, catch up on the gossip. But apart from the fun of hanging out with friends (or making new ones), the whirl of drinks dates can start getting you down. What's the point of it all?
When I get to thinking like that, it heartens me to find out about events like this one at Whist at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica. For National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, the bar-resto is featuring a special happy hour cocktail (pink, of course) on Tuesdays, and will doncate the proceeds to the Beautiful Day Foundation. That's $10 of philanthropy with every drink.
