LA Confidential Magazine: LA's Best Pies

Is there anything more American than pie? Turns out the dish dates back well before the founding of our country, though chefs around Los Angeles are making this traditional dessert their own with all kinds of interesting iterations and flavors.


I talked to some of the city's most intrepid bakers about what makes pie so delicious, how they put their own special spins on it and more. Included are Valerie Confections, the Pie Hole, Huckleberry, Sweet Lady Jane and The Hart & the Hunter.
